The trailer launch of Kalank was recently held at the PVR Juhu Theater in Mumbai. Kalank has been the one of the most talked about film since its announcement because of its stellar star cast which include Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt. The late Sridevi was initially signed for the character of Bahaar Begum played by Madhuri Dixit. Reportedly the producer of the film Karan Johar initially wanted to cast Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Ajay Devgan and Kajol in the film but that didn’t worked out.
Kalank is a historical drama directed by Abhishek Varman of 2 states and produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala and Fox Star Studios. Based in the pre-independent India it tells the story about a family and many of its hidden truths that begin to unfold as communal tensions rise during the partition of India Pakistan. The film is scheduled to release on 17 April 2019 all over India.
